Important Announcement - Blood Appointments
NHS England have contacted all GP practices to inform us of a nationwide shortage of blood collection tubes.
We have been instructed by NHSE to halt all routine blood tests until at least the 17th September.
Any urgent GP requested blood tests will still be carried out in the surgery.
If you have been asked to have a blood test for a consultant or hospital appointment you must attend the hospital phlebotomy department, your GP surgery is not responsible for taking bloods for hospital treatments or follow up appointments.
Staff at the surgery will be going through those appointments already booked to see which ones can still go ahead.
We will be contacting patients in due course if a booked appointment needs to be cancelled.
This is totally out of our control and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Flu Vaccines & Covid Boosters (2021)
The practice is following national guidance and awaiting an announcement from Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) in order to progress with the planning of our seasonal flu and covid booster vaccine programmes. We are in a different position in the country now in terms of protecting people from flu as well as covid. The flu vaccine delivery may be quite different this year. As soon as we are able to give you any further information, we will do so.
Thank you for your patience.
General Practice Data for planning and research (GPDRP)
Why NHS Digital collects general practice data
NHS Digital is the national custodian for health and care data in England and has responsibility for standardising, collecting, analysing, publishing and sharing data and information from across the health and social care system, including general practice.
NHS Digital collected data from general practices using a service called the General Practice Extraction Service (GPES), which has operated for over 10 years and now needs to be replaced.
For more information about the changes or to opt out go to General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR) - NHS Digital
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) Phase 4
We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 4th March 2020
Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.
You will receive your prescriptions in the same way as you do now.
Changes to the Prescribing of Over The Counter Medicines
Over the counter medicines for minor health concerns are available to buy in a pharmacy or local supermarket in your local community. Our practice follows NHS England's guidance on this and will not generally give you a prescription for medicines which can be bought over the counter. Please follow the link below to read the guidance in full.

PPG children's play area project: We were delighted to have worked alongside The Art Department at Lincoln College on this project byoffering their talented students a work placement for 'private commissioned work' as part of their course.
Students Izzy and Catherine stepped up to the challenge and were tasked to created a piece of art which would keep both children and parents amused while waiting for their appointment. We are pleased to say the project is nearly completed and we are absolutely delighted with the design. If you have not yet seen our fantastic new mural in the surgery click on the link below to see the media coverage.
